Waiting Parents: Dan and Darbie
Hello, birth moms! We are Dan and Darbie, and we’re thrilled to have the chance to share our family with you. To any birth mom considering adoption, we want you to know that we admire your strength and selflessness. Your journey is incredibly brave, and we are humbled and grateful to even be considered as potential parents for your child.
At the heart of our family is our unwavering faith. God is the Light to our path, and we strive to live each day according to His teachings. Our faith not only shapes our values but also provides the foundation for our family’s journey.
Education and hard work are pillars of our household. We believe in the power of learning and the opportunities it brings. Dan and I are passionate about personal growth, and we’re committed to providing our children with every opportunity to thrive. We model this first, as parents, bettering ourselves in hopes to make the world a better place. We hope our children will do the same.
Yet, beyond the focus on education, our home is filled with something truly special—unconditional love and unwavering emotional support. Whether it’s sharing moments of joy or standing together through life’s challenges, our bond as a couple and a family is unbreakable.
In addition to our roles as providers and mentors, Dan and I are deeply committed to being attentive listeners and pillars of emotional support for our daughters. We see mistakes as an opportunity for learning and growth. We understand the importance of fostering open communication and creating a safe space where our girls feel comfortable expressing their thoughts, feelings, and concerns. Whether it’s through heartfelt conversations, comforting hugs, or simply being present when they need us most, we prioritize nurturing their emotional well-being and ensuring they always know they are heard, valued, and deeply loved.
As a couple, we embrace a growth mindset that perceives mistakes not as setbacks, but as invaluable opportunities for learning and nurturing both personal and spiritual development. We instill in our daughters the confidence to embrace their imperfections, learn from their experiences, and strive for continuous improvement in all aspects of their lives.
We share a unique journey that began at a Christian University where our friendship deepened through our shared values of faith, community, and family. Despite life taking us on separate paths for a time, God brought us back together in 2014, leading to a beautiful union 16 years after our first meeting.
Together we make a dynamic team. We complement each other in ways that bring balance and harmony to our family life. Our home is a place of peace, kindness, healthy communication, and an abundance of laughter where love has no bounds. Together, we love nothing more than spending quality time with our girls, whether it’s outings to the park, joining our church community for events, or embarking on weekend adventures.
About Dan:
Dan is the rock of our family, bringing a sense of stability and wisdom to our home. With his expertise in personal finance and retirement planning, he ensures our family’s future is fiscally secure. Dan values a healthy work-life balance. He values quality time and you’ll find him to be quite a playful guy, but he’s also fantastic at listening and attuning to our girls’ emotional needs.
About Darby:
I find fulfillment in nurturing relationships and cherishing the small joys of everyday life. As a part-time mental health professional, I am passionate about strengthening bonds within families and couples, striving to make a positive impact in their lives.
When I’m not working, my greatest joy comes from spending time with our three-year-old daughter, exploring the world through her eyes and creating cherished memories together. Whether we’re enjoying a leisurely stroll to the neighborhood park, engaging in playful activities, or simply having a spontaneous dance party, every moment is a treasure.
Our two girls are bursting with excitement at the opportunity of becoming big sisters. They’re eagerly awaiting the chance to welcome a new sibling into our family with open hearts and open arms. Our 17 year old, on the brink of adulthood, is, planning for the future with dreams of furthering her education after high school.
