Waiting Parents: Christy and Brandon

First, we want to thank you for taking the time to look through our photo book and to start getting to know us.

We became parents about 2 years ago when little Lincoln came into our lives. He is such a miraculous joy. He was totally unexpected but still the greatest blessing either of us have ever had. We are fortunate that our current place in life has allowed us to take such great care of him, and we hope that you will help us grow our family. We are sure you want to know why we are hoping to adopt. We actually have several reasons. It might be possible for us to have another biological child but that would require a surgery that isn’t always successful. Lincoln’s birth required a significant recovery for Christy. Finally, (but most importantly) we feel that we have a lot of love to give and share and want to bring another child into our family.

Christy is a therapist (Licensed Professional Counselor -Supervisor Level). She has own practice. Brandon is an Accountant. He works for a manufacturing company here in DFW. We are blessed that Christy only needs to work part time (1 or 2 days a week) and is so able to care for Lincoln (and his new bother or sister) most of the time. We also have a network of close friends and Godparents that help out. Lincoln stays with a friend of ours about once a week for a few hours. She has children of her own and Lincoln always has a great time.

Lincoln and his new bother or sister will grow up in a loving and supportive home. We all go to church every week and try our best to bring Biblical teachings into our hearts and actions. Our children will benefit from some of the best education in Texas. They will, if they want to, have the opportunity to attend college. While we feel education is critical, we believe that a solid work ethic is critical to success in life. Still, both of us have benefited from the knowledge that the ability to succeed comes from God’s Blessing first and our hard work second. We desperately want to share the blessings we have been given.

We are big believers in experiencing the world. We do a fair amount of travel but more than that we are frequent visitors to museums, zoos, aquariums, and gardens. This gives Lincoln (and his new bother or sister) wonderful opportunities to go out and see and touch things.

Finally, the decision you are making now is one that we can’t thank you enough for. If you choose us or another adoptive family, It is the most selfless and brave path we can think of – Thank You.
