Adoption can be an overwhelming and stressful journey. Whether you’re a birth mother looking to place your child with a family, or an adoptive family looking to adopt a new baby, the questions and the unknowns can be incredibly challenging.

We’re always here to help, on both sides of the fence. We know that having someone experienced in your corner can help ease the stress, but many times, it’s most helpful to know what it’s like to be in those shoes. Over the years, many birth mothers and adoptive families have turned to blogging, sharing their highs and lows through posts online.

We thought it would be helpful to share a list of some of the best adoption blogs, so you can learn about others’ journeys with adoption. You can read about the things they’ve learned and choices they’ve made, and in many cases, get a few laughs along the way.

I can’t remember not knowing I was adopted.  Before I could even understand the concept of adoption my parents told me that my Mommy didn’t think she could have a baby in her tummy and it made her very sad. So she prayed that God would bring her a baby to love and then one day, she heard a noise on the front porch, looked out and there I was!  A baby sent from God to be their daughter. 

Eventually, I came to understand the concept of adoption and was told that my Birth Mom was very young and unable to care for me so she made the most heartbreaking decision of her life and placed me for adoption, so that I would be raised in a famiy that loved and cared for me in a way that she was unable to. My parents always emphasized what a sacrifice it was for her…that she loved me enough to let me go.
