Waiting Parents: Jordan and Karye

Our fairytale began on a dating app of all places. We were divinely matched in January 2020. After three weeks of chatting, Jordan drove three hours to have our first date at Cracker Barrel. We were lucky enough to get in a couple of more dates before COVID shut everything down. We both started working remotely, so Jordan would come spend his weeks in Arkansas often. There were no date nights out, just time at home cooking, playing board games, working jigsaw puzzles, and watching movies. In just seven short months, Jordan proposed. Six months later, we tied the knot. Nothing was as either of us imagined, but there was no doubt God brought us together.

Jordan’s career determined where we would live. He is a contracted employee for the US Air Force in the aerospace industry. Karye now works remote as an internal auditor, while also serving as an administrative assistant for a local, Christian non-profit.
We were blessed to find a home in quiet, gated community in the suburbs of Oklahoma City. It is a safe and friendly neighborhood complete with playground, pools, pond, and walking trails. The three bedrooms, two and a half baths with cozy living space provide a comfortable atmosphere with room for our family to grow. The small backyard will be perfect for a little one to explore. While we don’t live close to immediate family, we make our extended family a priority. We aim to see both Jordan and Karye’s family every month or so. We are blessed to be aunt and uncle to 18 on Jordan’s side and 6 on Karye’s side. We can’t wait to add a child of our own to the mix!
What Karye loves about Jordan:
Jordan has such a calming presence, which is rooted in his love of the Lord. He is the perfect help mate, always willing to lend a hand around the house with chores, but he keeps things fun as well by planning dates and teaching me new board games. I could not have dreamed of a better man for myself. God’s timing was perfect when He brought Jordan into my life, just as it will be when He brings a child into our lives.

What Jordan loves about Karye:
Karye has such an easy smile and laugh that are contagious and brings a lot of joy to my life and those she’s around. She’s a smart, Godly, and driven person who inspires me to better myself. She’s an amazing wife, and I have no doubt she’ll be an amazing mother.
Just as God brought us together, God has brought us on this adoption journey. With family history of infertility on Karye’s side and undiagnosed infertility, we prayed for clear direction. Both of our families have a history with adoption, Karye’s aunt and uncle and six of Jordan’s siblings. God continued to confirm this path, revealing stories of adoption in and through our church family. If anything is true in our story it is that God is faithful and his timing is perfect.
