Waiting Parents: Jake and Taylor

Hi, we’re Jake and Taylor. We met and started dating in college in 2009 and got married two months after graduating in 2013. We have now been married for 13 years. After almost 8 years of struggling with infertility and almost giving up trying to have children, God blessed us with our amazing twin daughters, Kaia and Evie.
Why we want to adopt: Although God has blessed us with Kaia and Evie, we know our family is not yet complete. God has reminded us that there are families looking for other options for their babies, and that fact has led us back to praying and seeking to adopt rather than go through more medical treatments for our own fertility.

More about Jake:
Jake is an engineer for an oil and gas operator in West Texas. More than anything, Jake enjoys spending time playing games and traveling with our family. Jake’s hobbies include cooking, golfing, and hunting. Taylor loves that Jake loves God and that he puts family first, making sure that quality time together is a priority. She loves that Jake is patient, calm and dependable.
More about Taylor:
Taylor is a pediatric nurse turned stay at home mom. Although she loved every minute of nursing, she took a pause from her career so that she can be home with the girls and see them grow and learn new things every day. Taylor enjoys spending time with friends and family, as well as reading, gardening, and baking. Jake loves that Taylor is strong in her faith, patient and full of empathy. He loves that Taylor find true enjoyment helping our children to grow, learn and get to know Christ.

More about Kaia and Evie:
Kaia is our oldest daughter, by two whole minutes. She is our outgoing daughter, always looking for a laugh by telling silly jokes. She loves playing outside, playing piano with Taylor and golfing with Jake. Evie is our baby child. She is more cautious but doesn’t let that stop her from trying new things. She loves playing outside and playing with animals. She enjoys cooking with Taylor and going on walks with Jake.
Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit about our family. We understand that there is a lot to consider as you seek to find what is best for you and your baby. We know none of these choices are taken lightly and know you are doing everything out of love and protection for your child.
We would love to answer any questions you have and get to know more about you and your heart and desires for your child. All four of us are excited to see what the Lord does through this process, and we wait open handed for our family and for yours.
