Waiting Parents: Ben and Sloane

Hi there! We are Ben and Sloane, and we are thrilled to have a second of your time. The fact that you have made it to this step of your journey indicates the strength of your character. We understand that this decision requires strength and sacrifice. We are truly blessed to even be considered.

Meet Sloane

Sloane is a Speech Language Pathologist for an Elementary School. She spends her days at work helping children age 3-12 meet their goals for language and communication.

What Ben loves most about Sloane is the depth of her love for those she cares about. Her unwavering kindness, grace, and compassion shine through in every situation. Every day, Ben is inspired to love as fully and beautifully as Sloane does. Ben’s favorite teacher in high school told him, “If you marry your best friend, you’ll live a long and happy life”. Over 5 years into being married to his breast friend, his life gets happier every day.

Meet Ben

Ben spends his time at work for the Big 12 Conference as the Assistant Director of Video and Technology Services. He gets to combine his love for sports and technology daily.

What Sloane loves most about Ben is his gentle spirit. From the outside, he looks like a big, tall guy, but once you get to know him, you can tell how truly kind and big his heart is. She loves that they share the same interests, from musicals to sports to sushi, to spending time with their friends and families. Ben shows her every day that she is his number one priority through his actions, words or affirmation, and love. She is so lucky to call him her best friend.

Our hobbies

We share a lot of the same hobbies! We love playing pickleball, having game nights with close friends, watching movies and musicals together, and trying out new sushi restaurants. Ben also enjoys video games, sports, WWE, and researching IT projects. Sloane enjoys crafting, baking sourdough, doing her nails, and DIY projects.

Meet Cooper

He is the fluffiest and most loveable guy. He is 10 years old and loves it when his mom and dad let him have their leftover pizza crust!

Our home

We live in a spacious and cozy 3 bedroom home that is ready to welcome in a child. Our house backs up to a green belt that leads to the neighborhood park. The park has soccer fields, a big walking trial, and a playground that all the neighborhood children love to play at.

Our families

Our families both live within 20 minutes of us. Ben’s parents, sister and brother-in-law and nephew all live in Kennedale. Sloane’s parents live in Arlington. We see each set of parents at least once a week. We attend church with Sloane’s parents and have Sunday dinners with Ben’s parents weekly. They are a huge part of our lives, and we are so lucky to live so close to family.

Why adoption?

We get asked the question of “why adoption” a lot. From the beginning in 2016, we knew our story of starting a family would look different than most people we know. Thinking it would scare her away, Ben told Sloane, on our second date, that he was unable to have children of his own. But Sloane didn’t run, she embraced Ben for his differences and reassured him that no matter the path we will take to start a family, she was down the journey. Adoption is truly what we were called to do. Should we get to be the parents of your child, they will always know that their birth mom is one strong woman. They will know that they were chosen by the Lord to be a part of our family, even though they might look different from us. We can’t wait to share our child’s story with them.
